Product Description

The TC Paddle Surf Long Grain CV SUP is designed to encourage a longboard style and approach to riding waves.

DESIGN: Inspired by Tom Carroll’s passion for walking up and down a longboard in small clean waves, the overall design focuses on more efficient water flow over a relatively large surface area. By doing this we offer high volume stability without sacrificing speed and flow.

CONTOURS: The unique bottom contours reduce rail volume and drag without sacrificing stability under paddle power. The deep double concave displacement hull allows free flowing water movement through the underside of the nose while also reducing slapping. Subtle concave through the centre leads into a pronounced spiral vee out the tail which provides ample turning abilities and prevents rail-to-rail sticking, especially in uneven, choppy conditions and when driving through unpredictable wave zones. A slight bevel on the underside of the rail enhances trim sensitivity on the wave face.

ROCKER: Lower entry rocker and long gradual curves allow this board to maintain acceleration and incredible flow on any size wave. The rocker has also been designed to allow freedom of movement from the back turning zone right up to the nose.

FINS: Dynamic 2 + 1 set up comes with the new FCS II TC SUP side fins and a custom 8” TC Paddle Surf single fin. Tom prefers to set the larger centre fin forward in the box to allow for looseness off the tail.

PERFORMANCE: The 11’0″ delivers a longboard feel and a solid connection to the wave face. This board is perfectly suited to the recreational small wave surfer, and the high volume will also suit the estuary, inlet, and flat-water adventurer. The 10’4″ also delivers a longboard feel, but offers more agility and freedom to maneuver easily on a wave. This board will also serve as a great cross-trainer by transitioning seamlessly from the surf to flat water.

Approx board weights: 10’4: 11.3kg/24.9lbs | 11’0: 13.1kg/28.9lbs

Technical Info

Carbon Vector

Carbon Vector (CV) construction delivers unmatched performance by harnessing the flex characteristics of epoxy and the strength of carbon. CV combines a stringerless, high-density custom shaped EPS core laminated with biaxial fiberglass, epoxy resin and a distinctive carbon fiber webbing, (positioned on the bottom and around the rails).

The carbon fiber webbing serves to evenly distribute tension across the entire surface area of the board to produce a lively, yet controlled flex pattern with remarkable memory recall. The biaxial fiberglass on the deck serves to add strength and also help prevent delaminating. CV boards feel fast, light and highly responsive in all conditions.

Created by GSI to compliment a range of board models and designs, this construction has proven to have superior flex properties over our other board technologies by up to 20%.

Been riding this board for about a month and absolutely love it. The double concave pushes through the chop on the way out and gives a great lift in the nose when surfing it. Great flatware board as well. Tracks very nicely and is very stable. Only warning is the Deck pad is aggressive so if you spend any time on your knees getting out through the shore break watch out for the tops of your toes as it will chafe the skin off.

  2. 5 out of 5 My 11' Tom Carroll Long Grain is Such a Great SUP

    Jeff Pickering

I bought this board after moving from California to Florida. Wanted a board that could handle flat water and waves. On flat days, I paddle 3 miles north and from my beach, across a cove, over the reef and back again. Paddles so smooth and quiet that I regularly surprise turtles, tarpon and the occasional shark. When the swell is up, it is so easy to get into the waves with this board. From deep-water takeoffs and the long rides that follow, to the quick shore break in front of my house, this board has not let me down once. At first I thought that 11′ would be too big, but I’m 5’10 and 205lbs, and this board’s size feels perfect. Can’t wait for a few buddy’s to buy one.

As a life time surfer and at the age of 61 I needed a change the body is aging as
it does and the conventional boards sitting in a pack on the point and only
getting one wave I nearly gave away surfing a friend suggested that I should try
some thing else that would re kindle my love of the ocean waves,SUP took my
interest due to the allround workout and the capability and variety of uses from
flat water to the surf.So I embarked to find the perfect board for me as an
advanved surfer I started with a NSP 10’6 great to learn on flat water but a
titanic in the surf-2nd choice was a Fanatic 9’3 allwave Ltd greate to paddle but
a dog to turn on a wave with such a bulbuse nose -3rd choice Naish 9’5 mana
lovely for a beginner and on the flat water but again a log to turn and peform to
my wave riding ability-4th choice was a JP 9;3 widebody surf which was closer to
a real surfable board but still battle turning the big fat nose -5th choice is my
current love is the Tom Carroll Long Grain 10’4 I will say its my Rolls
Royce/Ferrarri board so comfortable to paddle and predictable on a wave and it is
Turbo charged when you need it this is a piece of art the long board feel and the
nose riding capabilities is unsurpased by any other SUP Tom and Blain
    congratulations on a great product.

Truth in advertising about this board. 11’0 Long Grain was recommended at Freedom Surf Shop in Virginia Beach. Glides nicely over flat water and traversing from break to break. Down the line, nose riding is fast. Step back on the tail, and it turns on a dime. So happy with my purchase.
